As a graduate student in the International Education Management Program at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, CA, I am an aspiring leader in the field of international education. I believe in the power of intercultural exchange and mutual understanding and am excited collaborate with others in the field to to design, promote, implement, and operate programs focused on international student and scholar exchange.

Like many emerging professionals in this field, I was motivated to seek a career in international education after my two years studying and working abroad. I studied for my entire junior year of college in Bologna, Italy, and then returned to Northern Italy after graduation to teach English. These experiences were incredible immersive learning opportunities and I began to understand myself, as well as the world around me, in a new way. I was compelled to seek a career where I could facilitate these types of international programs and moved to Washington, DC to start working for the Institute of International Education straight from Italy. I've never looked back. 

 

After working in DC for about 4.5 years, I decided to go back to school to seek my Master's degree. I moved to Monterey to attend the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and I am currently finishing my final semester of the program. For my last semester, I am completing a full-time practicum with Student-Athletes Abroad, a program provider focused on removing the barriers that typically prevent student-athletes from studying abroad. Their mission is to connect the world through sports through their academic and service-learning programs. As a lifelong athlete, I have always believed in the power of sports as a way to foster exchange and understanding between cultures and am excited to be working for an organization that combines two of my greatest personal and professional passions. 

 

After I complete my degree, I hope to continue promoting and creating international programs which focus on athletes and utilizing sports as a vehicle for exchange.
